What I did: Searched literature for relevant articles related to population and purpose of assessment. The critical thinking article evaluated and compared the critical thinking disposition and skills of students from three nursing education systems in South Korean. Those systems are 3-year associate degree (ADN), 4-year baccalaureate (BSN), and 5-year RN- to-BSN programs.

What I did: Searched through assigned text and literature for a model or framework that I prefer to use to guide my assessment. The PRECEDE-PROCEED model is heavily used in community health and is evidence based in its development and integration into practice. Some articles from the early 1990s, not available online, were vital to understanding the history of the model and its authors. A local university library was utilized to locate the articles as well as formal published material.

What I did: Conducted an initial "Meet and Greet" with Gillian via Skype online services. We discussed the possibilities and options available for assessing the student body population. Gillian encouraged the investigation into cultural and age differences in the population. Goals and plans were loosely set to help serve as a benchmark for progress and our next conference call.

What I did: Searched literature for relevant articles related to population and purpose of assessment. An example of the application of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model with dental students was discovered. It will serve as a great demonstration of the application and process of the framework to a similar population.
