What I did: Searched literature for relevant articles related to population and purpose of assessment. Researchers surveyed nursing education programs across the US in 2003 to assess the past, present, and future trends in nursing academia. This article is helpful in providing data from the perspective of faculty and leaders of schools of nursing around the country.

What I did: Numerous phone calls were made and emails sent to solicit information about students at CSUSB. The Office of Institutional Research at CSUSB identified Robert Lachousse as a professor who has been surveying for student health trends over the past decade. In 2000, he published a report of his first findings. Additionally, there is evidence suggesting that he has updated data from 2007. Collected data and resources were reviewed and consolidated into relevant and non relevant for the current assessment.

What I did: Searched literature for relevant articles related to population and purpose of assessment. The study identifies third-year nurses' expectations of the graduate nurse role and ascertains how prepared they feel to fulfill this role. This qualitative study is directly analyzing the perspective of senior nursing students as they prepare to enter professional practice.
