What I did: Searched literature for relevant articles related to population and purpose of assessment. A national survey conducted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing provided quality information and data directly related to how graduates perceive that the schools prepared them for practice.

What I did: Discussed various topics with Gillian including relevant data sources for my population assessment, effectiveness of hospital orientation programs, and her research of the role of the nurse and how it is developed among new graduates.

What I did: Developed a new graduate survey to collect real data from Fall 2010 nursing graduates from CSUSB. The link for the survey was distributed to available students via FaceBook. Participation was solicited and results will be reported in final report.

This article highlights a project designed to increase the number of racial and ethnic minority students who are successfully recruited and admitted to the nursing program at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
