Research Committee at IHOP

Met with Drs Beaman, Butera, and Stoner today at IHOP. I asked for a meeting to discuss possible research proposal ideas and it was great to have all three sit down at the same table to discuss possibilities.

Proposed research investigating the effect of extended unemployment on the attitudes of new nursing graduates. Participants will followed for up to 6 months after graduation to assess attitude shifts and changes.

A fast paced sequence of events was suggested to expedite a possible research proposal and project to begin in June 2011 with CSUSB (and possibly LLU) students.

• Rough Draft 3-5 page proposal
• Search for usable validated instrument (within and/or outside of nursing)
• PEW
• CSUSB College of Business
• Investigate possible theoretical frameworks (within and outside of nursing)
• Begin IRB application
• Call Gillipsie for possible hiccups in approval process
• Seek approval from current N404 instructors
